Our Story
The Vermont Spot started with a simple observation: visitors driving through Quechee Gorge Village wanted something to take home that actually looked like Vermont, not a generic souvenir shirt with a state outline slapped on the front. We're a small country store built around one idea — well-made, honestly printed apparel that carries the maple leaves, mountain ridges, and river bends people came here to see.
We started small, working with regional screen printers and embroiderers who understand cotton and fleece the way a hardware store clerk understands nails and lumber. Every piece in our shop is chosen because it holds up: heavyweight fabrics, tight stitching, and prints that don't crack after a few trips through the wash. We are not trying to be a fashion label. We are trying to be the shop you remember when the shirt is still in good shape five years later.
Quechee Gorge itself, cut by the Ottauquechee River, has been drawing visitors for generations, and White River Junction has long been a crossroads for people passing through Vermont on their way somewhere else. We wanted a store that fit that role: a place to stop, pick up something genuinely well-made, and carry a small piece of Vermont with you, whether you're headed back to Boston, Montreal, or just up the road to Woodstock.
Today we carry graphic tees, pullover hoodies, crewneck sweatshirts, long sleeve tees, flannel shirts, and kids' sizes, each printed or embroidered with maple leaf, mountain, river, and Vermont lettering artwork. We keep the assortment tight on purpose. Every product on this site is something we'd be glad to see someone wearing on Main Street ten years from now.

The Vermont Spot is run by a small team based near Quechee Gorge Village who grew up with, or moved to, this part of Vermont and wanted a shop that took the region's apparel seriously. We work directly with regional printers and embroiderers to keep quality control tight and turnarounds honest.
What We Make
Our current line-up spans six categories: Vermont Graphic Tees, Pullover Hoodies, Crewneck Sweatshirts, Long Sleeve Tees, Vermont Flannel Shirts, and Kids & Toddler sizes. Every piece carries maple leaf, mountain, river, or Vermont lettering artwork, printed or embroidered onto durable, true-to-size garments.
Our graphic tees are built on ringspun cotton, heavy enough to hold a print without going see-through, and cut with a relaxed, true-to-size fit rather than a slim modern cut that doesn't suit everyone. Our pullover hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts use fleece-backed cotton blends chosen for warmth without excess bulk, most with a small embroidered crest rather than an oversized front print. Our flannel shirts are brushed on both sides for softness and cut a bit fuller through the shoulders so they layer easily over a tee. Kids' sizes carry the same artwork scaled down, with tagless necklines so nothing scratches on the ride home.
Why We Keep the Line-Up Small
A lot of souvenir shops try to carry everything: mugs, magnets, candles, keychains. We made a different call. Every dollar we'd otherwise spend on trinkets goes into fewer, better garments. That means a smaller catalog than some visitors might expect, but it also means every item on this site is something we're comfortable standing behind, from the stitching on a flannel cuff to the way a hoodie holds its shape after the twentieth wash.

Looking Ahead
We add new colorways and small updates to the line-up as fabrics and prints prove themselves, but we're deliberately slow about it.
