Information We Collect

When you visit or place an order with The Vermont Spot, we collect information you give us directly, such as your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number. Payment details (card number, expiration date, etc.) are entered directly into PayPal's secure checkout and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

We also automatically collect some technical information when you browse our site, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring URLs. This helps us understand how visitors use the site and fix problems.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: process and ship your orders, send order confirmations and tracking updates, respond to customer service inquiries, prevent fraud, and improve our products and website. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: request access to the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email we send. Children's Privacy

Our site is intended for adults making purchases, including on behalf of children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information we hold, including serving our site over HTTPS/SSL encryption and routing all payment card entry through PayPal's PCI-compliant checkout rather than our own servers. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, and afterward as required to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Marketing email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of that information, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@vermontspot.us with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line, and we will respond within the timeframe required by law.

European Visitors (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing your personal information is generally to perform the contract of sale when you place an order, or your consent when you sign up for marketing emails. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict our use of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your information properly.

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, our site does not currently alter its data collection practices when it detects a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

Information We Share

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us run the business: our payment processor PayPal (to process transactions), our shipping carriers such as USPS, UPS, and FedEx (to deliver your order and provide tracking), our email service provider (to send order confirmations and, if you opt in, marketing emails), and analytics providers such as Google Analytics (to understand aggregate site traffic). We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Vermont Spot LLC, our customers, or the public.
